The new award, the brock university international curriculum award, will recognize and support faculty who develop innovative curricula that incorporate Brock courses, with a focus on internationalizing the curriculum. The program is open to full-time and part-time college and university faculty from around the world.
In addition to the $100,000 grant from bill & maurice elias international achievement awards, brock has established a matching fund that will match as much as $25,000 of contributions from outside donors. The bill & maurice elias international achievement awards were created in 1999 by alumnus Bill Elias and his parents Maurice and Frances Elias, who asked that their philanthropy focus on helping outstanding students become future leaders. In response to the founders' wishes, winner's names are placed on a plaque that
"The brock university international curriculum award provides an important opportunity for us to share our expertise in international education with colleagues from other institutions," said Dr. John McKendry, Dean of Brock University's Faculty of Education. "Our goal is to help create truly global curricula that will prepare students for success in an increasingly interconnected world."

The grant will support up to 10 courses per year for a period of three years. The grant has been allotted to the brock university campus in st. Catharines , ontario . This is an institutional grant awarded by regional bodies who have oversight on areas such as course development and related activities at member institutions across canada . In this case, it is led by the british columbia council on international education (bccei).
The bill & maurice elias international achievement awards were established in 1999 as a way for the federal government to honour those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to international education. The $100,000 grant from the bill and maurice elias international achievement awards will allow brock university to enhance its curriculum through the incorporation of brock courses. Brock has been designated by bccei as an "entrance point" institution for this awards program. As such, we are eligible to apply directly for funding without having to go through a regional application process or rely on applications from other institutions within our region ( ontario ).
